Learn how to draw, paint and illustrate in a relaxed environment and enjoy using nature as inspiration with professional artist and wildlife illustrator, Mairead McGuinness.

The course runs weekly from Thursday 24th June to Thursday 12th June for 8 weeks from 7pm - 8:30pm

The course will cover:

Observation and drawing skills.

Tips and techniques to make accurate drawings.

The colour wheel: Understand colour theory and make it work for you

Students will be guided through Light, shade and tone. Painting techniques, glazing, layering, building depth.

Understanding your materials and tools: get to know your papers, brushes, paints, pencils and find what works for you.

Individual attention and tutoring for each student.

Confidence and creativity.. freedom of expression and finding your own style, an emphasis of encouraging students to draw and paint what inspires them.

(Materials and inspiration sources will be provided but students are also encouraged to bring their own sources of inspiration, objects, photos, and art materials should they wish to)
